AAHAR: 34th edition to Commence in March 2019 at New Delhi

The international food and hospitality fair, Aahar will commence on 12th March and will go on till the 16th of March. This will be the 34th edition of the fair which will be held at the popular Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. It is an initiative by the Indian Trade Promotion Council (ITPO) and is being supported by Ministry of Food Processing and Industries (MoFPI), the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority.

“The increased inflow of foreign tourists and business visitors, as well as the exposure of the Indian middle class to foreign lands, are among the major reasons leading to growing demands for foreign cuisine and ingredients, said Hema Maiti, general manager, fairs, ITPO in a statement. “With the government keen on promoting value addition in the food sector, Indian companies too have taken the initiative in a big way, resulting in a growing domestic demand for processed food, and Aahar can be act as a catalyst for the same,” she added.

Aahar is receiving all the support it needs from the industry especially the The Hotel and Restaurant Equipment Manufacturers’ Association of India (HOTREMAI), the Association of Resource Companies for the Hospitality Industry of India (ARCHII), the Food and Hospitality Support Association of India (FHSAI), the All India Food Processors’ Association (AIFPA) and the Forum of Indian Food Importers (FIFI). Maiti has also said that this fair, Aahar will give ample opportunities to businesses in the food and hospitality sector.

She also said that, “Aahar is an opportunity to exhibit products/technologies/services to national and international buyers, generate sales leads/order bookings, networking with the industry/establishing business contacts, launch new products, appoint agents and distributors, promote company products/brand building and market research/gauge market trends.”
