Already a longstanding member of UFI and IAEE, IELA now joins the Event Industry Council in order to widen collaboration and intensify exchange on critical issues within the event industry.
In efforts to enhance key activities on a global level, IELA are very pleased to inform that in January 2019, IELA became the 33rd member of the reputable association Event Industry Council (EIC).
70 years after being established and representing over 19,500 companies in the events industry, EIC strengthens the value and sustainability of its members and provides a vibrant platform to address and exchange on critical issues within the events industry.
Its strategic pillars range from research and certification with standards and best practices, to collaboration and operational excellence. Possessing a comparable passion for delivering excellence to its members, IELA explores and develops in similar areas such as advancing training, high quality standards of performance and best practices.
Vicki Bedi, IELA Chairman mentions: “IELA shares the focus on Sustainability, Knowledge and Leadership with EIC. We are looking forward to actively participating in EIC initiatives to advance the Exhibitions Industry at a global level. As EIC member, IELA brings its specialist domain knowledge of the Exhibitions Logistics Industry as well as a considerable international dimension through its active membership representing 56 countries.”
Having released the IELA Security Guidelines last year, with IELA Sustainability Guidelines to be released in October 2019, and already acting as a central representative for the exhibition logistics industry, IELA is positioning itself as a referent in the industry of exhibition and event freight forwarding.
IELA and EIC are confident that the IELA membership will be a giant step forward for the future and for all parties involved. As an additional asset, we look forward to this new collaboration with EIC as we can learn from event industry key players, build up key business relationships around the globe and share our know-how and expertise on key topics such as Operational Health & Safety.
