ITPO LAYS FOUNDATION STONE

FOR HOSTEL BLOCK  AT INSTITUTION FOR BLINDS

The Foundation Stone for the Hostel Block at Institution for the Blind was laid by Shri L.C. Goyal, Chairman and Managing Director, India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) at Panchkuian Road, New Delhi. Present on the occasion were Smt. Shubhra Singh, ED, ITPO, Shri Rakesh Gupta, ED, NBCC, Shri S.R. Sahoo, GM, ITPO, other senior officials from ITPO, NBCC and Institution for the Blind.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri L.C. Goyal, CMD, ITPO expressed that it is a great satisfaction and a proud moment for of ITPO’s employees for taking up such a project of construction of a Hostel Block at the Institution for the Blind where ITPO has to contribute Rs. 52 Lakh. Emphasising on an urgent need to provide high standard welfare and support to ‘Divang’, he pointed out that all humans deserve a good quality and dignified life and ‘Divang’ have extraordinary talent and skills to play an active role in nation building. He said that it is an effort to support inclusive growth and quality upbringing for the blind. Apart from the construction of the Hostel Block, ITPO would also upgrade the toilets facilities in the Institution, he declared.
For the year 2015-16, ITPO contributed Rs. 4.07 crore towards the welfare of various activities under its CSR initiatives. During the years 2013-14 and 2014-15, the amount that ITPO had contributed towards its CSR initiatives was Rs.38.16 lakh and Rs.43.03 lakh respectively. In ITPO, the thrust of CSR is on capacity building empowerment of communities, inclusive socio-economic growth, development of backward region, and uplift of the marginalised and under-privileged section of the society.
