“Knit-tech is now Asia’s largest knitting technology Trade Fair” – M A Rayappan

The 14th edition of the Knit -Tech trade fair, one of Asia’s largest machinery exhibition was recently organized by Hi-Tech International Trade Fair India Private Limited displaying a wide range of latest machinery in apparel production and technology solutions at Hitech exhibition Ground, Tirupur Tadesse Haile, the State Minister (Exports, Investment) in Economic Section at Ethiopian Prime Minister’s Office, inaugurated the event in the presence of Tirupur Exporters Association President Raja M. Shanmugam and representatives of various other textile associations. The four-day knitwear technology fair attracted manufacturers of knitting, compacting and dyeing machines, apparel accessories, and technology solutions from as many as 23 countries. More than 200 stalls were set up in the fair arena. The event ran between 10th to 13th February at Hitech Trade Fair Ground, TIrupur.

Displaying a wide range of latest machinery in apparel production and technology solutions, the 14th edition of the Knit -Tech trade fair concluded on a high note. The four-day knitwear technology fair, organised by Hi-Tech International Trade Fair India Private Limited, attracted manufacturers of knitting, compacting and dyeing machines, apparel accessories, and technology solutions from as many as 23 countries. More than 200 stalls were set up in the fair arena.
“We are expecting 40,000 visitors over the four days including the 6,000 persons registered online for the entry”, said M. A. Rayappan, chairman of the Knit-Tech Show.
Rayappan said an attraction this year was equipment developed using indigenous technologies like the ones meant for knitted fabric dyeing were on display apart from the imported appliances.

Rayappan : In it’s 14th edition, the four-day Knit-Tech-2017 is one of the premier knitting technology trade fairs in Asia

TFT : A bit about the organisers too?
Rayappan : Knit-Tech is organised by Hi-Tech International Trade Fair India Private Limited, the company was setup in the year 1993 to conduct Knit- tech trade show that enhance interaction amongst players in niche industries in south India. We have been in the business of organizing international trade fairs and seminars for the past 2 decades.

TFT : What is the objective of organizing this show ?
Rayappan : To exploit the opportunities arising from the very latest technological development and to make sure that we continue to innovate, preparing for the need for the future.
In addition, our textile and clothing industry needs strong and relevant skills to compete successfully in World markets. In some areas we already have these; using new computer technology in knitting machines, Indian companies are succeeding in both reducing the production time of garments and increasing their fashion and design content.

TFT : What is the size of the current show ?
Rayappan : Knit-tech is now Asia’s largest knitting technology trade fair, the fair hosts over 400 numbers of exhibiting organizations to present wide range of products categories. And plays the vital role in diffusion of innovative products/machineries among the Indian Knitting Industry.

TFT: What has been the number of foreign participation in the show ?
Rayappan : 18 countries including US, UK, Germany, Spain, Turkey, Australia, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and Canada are among our regular exhibitors. Our expos have the unique distinction for attracting the most number of knitwear and textile machinery manufacturers from around the world.

TFT : How has been the visitor footfalls in the show ?
Rayappan : We have been able to attract the most number of visitors to our fairs. Our high quality visitors come from very different back grounds – entrepreneurs, decision makers and chief executives from within India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia, Pakistan and other Asian destinations. The proof of our expos’ quality is the big sales that exhibitors report and the positive impact it makes in their sales figures.

TFT : What is the major attraction at this edition ?
Rayappan : The attraction this year is equipment developed using indigenous technologies like the one meant for knitted fabric dyeing , apart from the imported appliances.

TFT : If you can throw some light on the numbers ?
Rayappan : We are looking at concluding with 40,000 visitors over the four days with over 400 exhibitors on the floor.
