Wan succeeds Wee as UBM SES chief executive

UBM SES (formerly Singapore Exhibition Services) has announced that Lindy Wee (pictured), who has held the chief executive role since January 2015, will be stepping down from the post, to be replaced by Paul Wan.

Wee will continue to serve as a non-executive director.

Wee has served as a second vice-chairman of the Asia/Pacific Regional Chapter of UFI and as a vice-president (exhibitions) of the Singapore Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (SACEOS).

Wan is currently the managing director of UBM Singapore and will lead UBM SES concurrently, effective from 1 July 2017.

“As UBM SES enters into a new phase of innovation, the time has come to pave the way for a new structure. With teamwork being the backbone of the company’s success, augmented by Paul’s strong exhibition experience and solid vision for the future, I have no doubt that the business is well-placed to rise to greater heights,” said Wee.

Wan, joined UBM Asia in 2005, where he was responsible for the sales and business development of the jewellery portfolio. He was promoted to managing director of UBM Singapore in 2011, where he has expanded the portfolio of events, including Black Hat Asia, Children-Baby-Maternity Expo Southeast Asia, Singapore Jewellery & Gem Fair.

Wan is also a director of other two UBM companies, Seatrade Communications Singapore Pte Ltd and Sea Asia Singapore Pte Ltd.
