2019 Asian MICE Forum: Where MICE Experts Gather and Focus on Creative News

The 2019 Asian MICE Forum (AMF) will take place on September 18 and 19 at the Taipei International Convention Center. This event, which is known as a big event in the domestic MICE industry, has entered its 14th year. This year will continue last year’s Engagingly Experiential theme and enhance the experience level to a happy learning experience, making the fun and playful elements the main theme of the event. The Be Entertained: Make an event into a game theme will inspire the MICE industry to introduce various interesting factors into the event to increase event participation!

CEOs meet face-to-face, sketching the new blueprint meetings

On the first day of the forum, a CEO dialogue is specially planned and will be hosted by Walter Yeh, President of the Asian Federation of Exhibition and Convention Associations (AFECA). Mathias Posch, President of the International Association of Professional Congress Organizers (IAPCO), Jurriaen Sleijster, President and Chief Operating Officer of the world’s largest conference consulting company – MCI, and Sumate Sudasna, President of Thailand’s Incentive Travel & Conventions Association are invited to the stage to talk about the new look and outlook of the MICE industry in the future.

Spain’s tomato war sweeping the globe

La Tomatina, which has more than 70 years of history, is one of the three major festivals in Spain. Tens of thousands of participants from all over the world turn the streets of Spain into a tomato river. All the revelers throw tomatoes at each other to bring the atmosphere to its peak. Miguel Sanfeliu, Director of the event organizer Socarrat, will share how the tomato festival develops urban characteristics with traditional elements to increase the visibility of the city and the reputation of the event.

Explore venue technology and venue innovation

In order to provide innovative operation thinking for exhibition venues, Alan Steel, CEO of the Javits Convention Center in New York, is invited to Taiwan. In addition to adding more exhibitions and meeting space, the Javits Convention Center’s expansion plan in recent years includes a rooftop pavilion and a rooftop farm that combine business opportunities with sustainable business. Moreover, the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, which won the UFI Digital Innovation Award last year, assisted customers in field investigations due to the introduction of AR (augmented reality) technology, allowing customers to learn more about the site and see simulations of different events held in the exhibition center without having to visit the site. Business models that incorporate technology trends and experience sharing will lead the industry to break away from traditional thinking.

MICE young generation forum, new generation MICE vitality

In order to promote more interaction between new-generation MICE talent, the 2019 AMF also planned a young generation forum with the theme of How to Build a Personal Brand and Relationships, and paired the forum with games for an interactive experience to make the event more fun.

The 2019 AMF gathers global MICE leaders to drive new trends in the industry, as well as brings diversified international exchanges and business opportunities for the participants.
