TFT Breaking: Is AAHAR set to postpone?

AAHAR is one of Asia’s best known brands in Food & Hospitality shows.

With less than two months to go, the 36 th edition of AAHAR – The International Food & Hospitality Fair is a flagship B2B event organized by India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), scheduled to be held between March 09 to 13, 2021, looks like it may be heading towards postponement.

AAHAR is one of Asia’s best known brands in Food & Hospitality shows. The show has grown by leaps & bounds in recent years and is today the well known destination for global vendors and sourcing professionals

As per the “Exclusive Report” available with TradeFairTimes, AAHAR Supporting Associations are apprehensive on the positive outcome of the show in the wake of the COVID 19 pandemic and it’s after effect on the show. This is worth mentioning that more than 60 % of the domestic participation in AHHAR comes from Supporting Association members such as Hospitality Industry of India (ARCHII), Food & Hospitality Support Association of India (FHSAI), All India Food Processors’ Association (AIFPA), & Hotel and Restaurant Equipment Manufacturers’ Association of India (HOTREMAI).

TFT spoke with Rajeev Sachdeva, Vice President of Association of Resource Companies for the Hospitality Industry of India (ARCHII), he said that they are internally discussing the issue and the picture will be more clearer in the coming week. Sachdeva added “It all depends on the authority to decide on the show”.

Vikas Bhatia, Executive Secretary of All India Food Processors Association told TFT “We are speaking to our members and will be able to communicate the outcome to ITPO in a couple of days.”

TFT also asked Nitin Kumar, Secretary of another leading supporting Association Hotel and Restaurant Equipment Manufacturers’ Association of India (HOTREMAI) if the Association is participating in AAHAR to which his answer was ‘No’.

TFT tried to reach out to concerned ITPO officials but was not able to get an answer.
