CEATEC 2023: Navigating Cutting-Edge Technologies

Discovering the Future Through Innovative Tags and Trends at Japan's Annual Electronic Show

On October 17, CEATEC 2023, Japan’s prominent annual electronics showcase, commenced, placing a significant emphasis on cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual reality (VR) technologies tailored to address pressing societal issues, including workforce shortages and environmental concerns.

The Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies (CEATEC) 2023, which ranks among Asia’s largest digital technology exhibitions, is scheduled to run for four days, concluding on Friday, in Chiba, a city to the east of Tokyo. It boasts participation from a total of 684 companies and organizations, spanning both domestic and international electronics manufacturers and information technology firms.

CEATEC 2023, organized by the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA), is committed to promoting a sustainable future through the latest technologies. The event will highlight data collaboration, eco-friendly digitalization, smart cities, and other technological advancements, serving as a platform to communicate innovative breakthroughs and societal transformations.

This edition of CEATEC marks a milestone, being the first one held after the complete lifting of coronavirus restrictions. The event had been either partially or entirely online for the past three years.

Originating in 2000, CEATEC has consistently demonstrated the ways technology can enhance people’s lives. In 2016, CEATEC underwent a major shift in its direction, transitioning from a consumer electronics trade fair to an exhibition focused on realizing “Society 5.0,” envisioning the future society and lifestyles facilitated by the Internet of Things (IoT) and co-creation.
