Exploring the Thriving Indian Home Market: HGH India Trade Show 2023

HGH India’s 13th edition to take place from 4th July to 7th July 2023 in Mumbai

In its 13th edition, HGH India is a well-established bi-annual trade show dedicated to home textiles, home decor, home furniture, houseware, and gifts. The event is set to take place from July 4-7, 2023, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai. Exhibitors from India and around the world will showcase their latest product range for Autumn/Winter 2023-24 to a diverse group of buyers, including retailers, distributors, importers, wholesalers, interior designers, and institutional buyers. HGH India attracts over 37,000 trade buyers from approximately 570 cities and towns across India, as well as 28 other countries. With the participation of more than 700 brands and manufacturers from 32 countries, HGH India serves as a platform where inspiration, ideas, and business opportunities converge, catering to various home needs, from everyday products to high-end lifestyle and luxury offerings.

Mr. Arun Roongta, the Managing Director of HGH India, emphasizes the market potential, stating that India, with its population of 1.4 billion people, 65% of whom are below the age of 30, is one of the most promising global markets for home products, experiencing a 15% annual growth in demand. HGH India serves as an India-focused, global platform for facilitating direct communication among businesses in distribution, retail, sourcing, product development, market research, and new business partnerships. The upcoming Autumn/Winter 2023-24 edition is expected to bring together industry leaders and emerging players, fostering collaboration, idea-sharing, and mutual growth.

The 12th edition of HGH India took place in Mumbai in December 2022 and attracted 29,430 visitors from 570 cities and towns across India, as well as 29 other countries. While this number was lower than the 37,200 visitors in July 2022, it marked a 28% increase compared to the December 2021 edition held in Greater Noida, indicating a growing interest in the December sourcing season introduced by HGH India. Notably, there was a significant rise in visitors from tier II and III cities and towns.

The upcoming edition of HGH India will feature a special focus on six rapidly growing categories: World of Sleep, Home Furniture, Walls & Windows, Floor Coverings, Smart Kitchen, and Kids’ Home. Categories such as wallpapers, mattresses, home furniture, kids’ home products, floor coverings, and houseware are witnessing substantial growth. Educated, urbanized, and aspiring young Indian consumers possess significant purchasing power and play a crucial role in major buying decisions. The consistent annual GDP growth of 7% further supports their aspirations.

The 13th edition of HGH India will provide a valuable platform for Indian and international exhibitors to connect with over 37,000 leading home retailers, importers, institutional buyers, and wholesalers from approximately 550 cities and towns across India, enabling them to tap into the dynamic Indian home market.
