IESA celebrates 5th Anniversary: Successfully completes Five Years of Service to the Exhibition Industry

Founded on 13th November 2014, IESA this month successfully completed five years of service to the Exhibitions and Events industry. IESA (Indian Exhibitions, Conferences and Events Services Association), the Association who works for the development of all categories of service providers in the industry was formed by industry stalwarts. The success of IESA is due to its eight Charter Members who strived to set up IESA and subsequent support received from its valued members.

The path across since 2014: Exhibitions, Conferences, Training Programs and Workshops

IESA has come along way since its inception in the year 2014. IESA started its journey with few charter members forming the Association and in a short span of time, 53 founder members also joined IESA. Today, its membership strength is in excess of 300 with Tamailnadu Chapter being the largest.

From organizing INDIA EXPO SHOP (IES) exhibition, seminars to conducting training programs, here’s a look at the illustrious journey of the association in this brief report. IESA established the India Expo Shop (IES) – an Exhibition of the industry in 2016, where members of the Association from all over the country exhibit their products and services. IES had successfully completed three editions so far. The 1st edition held from 21st to 23rd in April 2016 at IEML, Greater Noida, where 80 exhibitors participated with more than 2,000 in attendance. The 2nd edition held from 17th to 20th April 2017 at the same venue had 100 exhibitors and more than 3,000 visitors. The subsequent edition, the most successful one to date, held from 15th to 18th May 2018 in Mumbai with more than 4,000 attending the Expo having 115 exhibitors. This annual exhibition of IESA not only attracted IESA members, but also international companies from China, Russia, Germany, and the UK exhibited their products.

The Association has also organized a variety of conferences and training programs. The conferences dealt with issues ranging from “Effective Strategies for Creating Experiential Space in Exhibitions, Events, and Sports” at IES 2016 and “Embracing Technology in Events” at IES 2017. At both these conferences, national and international speakers were invited to share their knowledge and experience. IESA also organized training programs in association with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) for Electricians and Carpenters at IES 2016. IESA also arranged programs to understand new taxation amendments, Goods and Services Tax (GST) policies, E-way Billing, etc. Workshops on the art of Effective Email-marketing and Fire Safety were also organized from time to time for the benefits of members.

Noble Contributions from IESA Members

IESA members enthusiastically participated in the Global Exhibition Day (GED) celebrations. Association undertook charitable activities on these occasions to contribute towards the benefit of the Society. In 2017, the Association conducted a Blood Donation Camps in Mumbai and New Delhi where more than  800 bottles of blood were collected. In 2018, an amount of Rs.15,00,000/- was donated to the Friends of Tribes Society, with the goal of improving literacy and health among the Adivasis – the tribal people living in remote villages of India. Subsequently, IESA also collected Rs. 12,00,000/- to help victims of Kerela flood in 2018.

IESA has been Supporting Partner:

Apart from being an active organizer, IESA has also been a supporting partner for events such as Exhibition Showcase Excellence Awards, Indo-Thai MICE Meeting, Tent Décor Exhibition and Decorise 2019 and MICE Expo 2019.

IESA Tamilnadu Chapter:

Furthermore, the association has established a regional chapter in Tamilnadu. Currently, IESA Tamilnadu Chapter having 131 members and conducted the 1st edition of Chennai India Expo from 21st to 22nd September 2018 in Chennai. Apart from that, the Chapter also conducted its Events Today Conclave 2019 from 16th to 17th October 2019 in Chennai.

Our other main activities:

The Association publishes IESA TIMES a monthly E-newsletter that has a circulation to 30,000 and also prints 800 copies for circulation among members, government departments and other companies active in the exhibition industry. Started in October 2017, the Newsletter published its 20th edition in November 2019.

The Association in its strategic planning has started organizing monthly meetings for business networking and for discussing issues and problems faced by members. Identity Cards (ID) were also issued to members for easy access into events and stickers for the cars of members to facilitate parking.

IESA is aware of the fact that this journey was not possible without the support of its members, clients, vendors, partners, and friends. Without their support and trust in IESA, it was impossible to achieve so much in a short span of five years and look forward to their continued support and encouragement.
