Q: Is the Organiser’s Council planned is meant to serve only domestic organizers?
A: No, the Council is meant for all ‘Exhibition Organisers’ operating in India irrespective of their origin or legal status.
Q: Is the Council being formed in competition with IEIA or any other industry Association ?
A: No,The IEIA comprises only 55 exhibition organizers (source www.ieia.in) as ordinary members while the country has more than 2000 exhibition organisers. The IEIA has it’s spread out categories of membership from managers, designers & stand contractors, freight forwarders, services & facilities providers to the venue owners & represents all segments related to the exhibition industry. While, the Exhibition Organiser’s Council is an initiative to be a catalyst and facilitator for the needs of “Exhibition Organiser’s” only. The Council will work closely with Governments, EPC’s, Venues, Other Chambers, Federations and Industry Associations for the benefits of the Exhibition Organizers. Also, the Conveners of the ‘Organiser’s Council’ are proud members of IEIA and other industry bodies.
Q: How and when will this Council get formed?
A: Each step of the initiative shall be transparent. There will be a national ‘Zoom Meeting’ of those who have endorsed the idea and consented to be part of the Council on 22ndApril 2020 (post the receipt of responses till 21stApril 2020). Followed by formation of the ‘National Executive’ by the ‘Steering Committee’. The ‘National Executive’ will then move forward with the formation of legal entity with the help of the legal experts. The Council shall be formed as soon as 30thJune 2020, also in order to get equipped urgently to address major economic and operational challenges after COVID 19 lockdown gets over.
