JKTPO and ITPO Collaborate for Mega Trade Fair and Exhibition in Srinagar, Fostering Business Opportunities in Jammu and Kashmir

JKTPO and ITPO join forces for a trade fair and exhibition in Srinagar, fostering business opportunities and showcasing diverse sectors.

In line with the vision of Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha and under the directions of Chief Secretary, Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, the Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) has partnered with the India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) to organize a large-scale trade fair and exhibition in Srinagar.

This annual multi-sector event aims to create business opportunities and facilitate networking among stakeholders, becoming the flagship event organized by JKTPO in both Jammu and Kashmir divisions, with the guidance of Commissioner Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Vikramjit Singh. To identify the most suitable venue for the trade fair, a team of experts from ITPO, including BrijLal, GM-Arch, Krishan Kumar, DGM, and Satish Kumar, Sr. Manager, visited Srinagar and surveyed multiple locations in coordination with JKTPO officials, taking into account factors such as accessibility and central location.

The ITPO team also met with Khalid Jahangir, Managing Director of JKTPO, to discuss the finer details of the proposed event, leveraging ITPO’s expertise as the major stakeholder of J&K Trade Promotion Organisation and the apex trade promotion body in India. The trade fair and exhibition will feature approximately 250 stalls, showcasing sellers from various sectors within the UT and other states of the country, including handicrafts, handlooms, agriculture, horticulture, dairy, food processing, manufacturing, and more, with special emphasis on Geographical Indication (GI) tagged products from both Jammu and Kashmir. This event aims to facilitate both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) interactions, providing a platform for sellers to showcase their products, connect with potential buyers, and foster collaborations. With a tentative schedule in September, the event is expected to boost domestic and international trade, stimulate economic growth, and strengthen trade ties with other countries, contributing significantly to the region’s business landscape.

JKTPO is also planning similar events, exhibitions, and buyer-seller meets in collaboration with national trade bodies such as CEPC, TPCI, HEPC, EPCH, and others, further promoting trade, innovation, and partnerships.
