MESSE FRANKFURT PROMOTES 5 TRADESHOWS WITH AN EYE TO THE RAPIDLY GROWING ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING & NATURAL RESOURCES SECTOR

MUMBAI
Prominent International Tradeshow organizer, Messe Frankfurt has significantly extended its portfolio of trade fairs in environmental technology & natural resources sector. With 5 prominent and highly successful tradeshows in India, China & Canada, Messe Frankfurt has been enhancing its portfolio in the Environmental technology and Natural Resources Sectors by taking advantage of their extensive domain expertise in the area. By innovating and upgrading their shows, Messe Frankfurt has ensured that all stakeholders, the exhibitors, visitors and the local industry as a whole reap maximum benefits.

Watertech India, which it acquired only recently, closed its doors at the end of September 2013 in Gandhinagar in the State of Gujarat with excellent response. The show attracted over 1,400 trade visitors at this conference and exhibition which was showcased innovations by some 50 companies, while the conference presented several eminent experts who spoke on various topics from their field. The long-term stimuli which this trade fair and congress has given to the development of the Indian water industry can, in large measure, be attributed to the unequivocal support offered by the Indian government.

The Indian Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation, Bharatsinh Solanki, formally opened the trade fair and emphasized that the Indian government sponsored Watertech, in order to foster cooperation amongst all those involved in the water industry. Moreover, he took advantage of the platform to present the “Solar Energy Based Dual Pump Piped Water Supply Scheme”. With this project, India aims to supply 337,000 households with water using solar-driven pumps and thus save up to 6.75 megawatts of electricity a year. Thanks to the enormously positive response, Watertech is to be extended next year to include sections on the waste-disposal industry, renewable energies, combatting air and noise pollution, and recycling. A beaming Iris Jeglitza-Moshage, Senior Vice President, Messe Frankfurt Exhibition said, “The acquisition of Watertech India has significantly strengthened our position as a major organiser of tradefairs for environmental engineering worldwide. With a total of five exhibitions in the world’s key growth markets, we offer manufacturers, users and political representatives the opportunity to discuss the urgent issues for sustainable environmental management and to develop appropriate solutions.”

In China, where it organises three events in this field, Messe Frankfurt covers the water, sanitation, energy, air and waste disposal industries. Ways of further developing strategies for the generation and exploitation of solar energy in buildings was the subject of much discussion amongst manufacturers, architects and engineers in June 2013, at the 2nd Building Solar China show in Guangzhou. In October 2013, about 300 manufacturers exhibited solutions relating to air quality, waste management, the energy industry, energy efficiency, measuring technology and green building at Eco Expo Asia in Hong Kong. Environmentally friendly products for both household and industry round off the range of things on offer at the show. With over 500 exhibitors, Water Expo China + Water Membrane China, which opened their doors in Beijing in December, together amount to one of the most important venues for the water industry in China. Germany has already been represented twice with a joint stand from Bavaria. And then, last but not least, there is the Canadian Waste & Recycling Expo, which is also one of Messe Frankfurt’s trade fairs on environmental technology. It takes place annually in Canada, in the autumn, and alternates between Montreal and Toronto. Some 200 exhibitors attend with a view to presenting their products for the modern waste-disposal and recycling industries.
