MTEX Sheds Light on Medical Tourism in Malaysia

TFT: What is the main theme in this press conference?

GR: Tourism Malaysia continues with its second roadshow to India this year, together with the Malaysia Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) across four cities from 17th to 24 August 2022. The roadshow kicks off in the city of Visakhapatnam followed by Kolkata, Kochi and Tiruchirappalli.

TFT: What new innovations can be seen in this press meet?

GR: The new innovations in this conference is about digitalisation. Also in Roadshow Malaysia Tourism, the focus is on Medical Tourism. Malaysian Tourism is also giving offers to Indian Citizens in heart surgery and other such treatments.

TFT: When is the best time to visit Malaysia?

GR: The best time to visit Malaysia is from December to April. With spurts of rain here and there, the weather is hot and humid most of the time throughout the year. The tropical monsoon climate of Malaysia ensures short spell of rain even in the driest seasons, so make sure you carry an umbrella.

TFT: What medical facilities is Malaysia tourism giving to the Indian tourist?

GR: We are providing tourists with world class facilities. The most important sectors we are covering is General Medicine, Heart Surgery and Knee Replacement.

TFT: What does Malaysia Roadshow aim from the Indian tourism sector?

GR: India remains and has been one of the top market sources for Malaysia and has contributed 735,309 arrivals in 2019. Apart from its objective to instill confidence among Indians to feel safe to visit Malaysia once again, the roadshow aims to provide a platform for the industry community to steer the tourism sector and return even stronger.

TFT: Is it possible to enjoy a quarantine free travel to Malaysia?

GR: Fully vaccinated travellers can now enjoy quarantine free travel to Malaysia, as they are no longer required to undergo pre-departure and on arrival Covid-19 tests.

TFT: How can Malaysia E+Visa can be applied?

GR: Currently Malaysian E Visa can be applied online. More than 14,000 seats are offered weekly between India and Malaysia through Malaysia Airlines, Batik Air, Air Asia, IndiGo and Air India Express.

GR: Staying true to the commitments is the key to a successful and sustainable event.
