NESCO halls open for Exhibitions
The two-year wait is finally get’s over as on the 19th April 2022, the Additional BMC Commissioner Shri Suresh Kakani declared that NESCO Goregaon Exhibition halls along will be released for Exhibitions.
Council of Indian Exhibition Organisers (CIEO), the only organiser centric council in India, has been instrumental and has made sincere attempt in representing the Maharashtra state government officials with the facts and figures and timely updates on challenges, and it’s implications, not only pertaining to the exhibition organisers, but also service providers, venues, ancillary industries etc. affecting the State’s economy due to hurdles in organising exhibitions.
CIEO diligently worked on keeping abreast with the relevant data, information and updates to the authorities. During one of the CIEO meeting with the state Industry Minister Shri Subhas Desai in Mumbai in the month of March 2022, the minister agreed to get the reopening the sector without any restrictions at it’s complete capacity.
The decision of opening NESCO halls will act like a boon of the exhibition industry in Mumbai, being one of major exhibition venues of the city.
NESCO too contributed in a big way to this success by offering complete financial aid to MCGM for dismantling of halls to expedite the process so that the halls can be made available for exhibitions at the earliest.
As per the latest update, the dismantling work from MCGM has progressed and awaiting due sanctions, the work is likely to begin soon, and the halls will be made available for exhibitions.
CIEO would like to thank its valued members for their trust and support and especially NESCO & GJEPC for their unconditional support and cooperation extended to make this happen.

Hemant Parab – Chief Fire Officer to express the concerns over the hefty fire scrutiny fees being levied on exhibitions, made appeal for fully waiving off the said fees, as per the latest update the Fire Brigade officials have agreed to rework on the fee structure and the new guidelines for the same is expected in a week.
